...reading this book. it is just so lovely. it is written by a super talented lady named alicia paulson (roseylittlethings.typepad.com) she has one of the best creative blogs ive ever read. she is a creative genius i tell ya!! and shes a really good writer too, so once you start reading about all her daily adventures, you'll never want to stop.
i'll admit i am not much of a sewer. i do try. i wish i was better at it. usually my problem is more with the machine than the actual sewing part. i never understand what to do with the thread bobbin etc....when the threads get stuck. i know its all tension etc...but i can wreck a perfectly good sewing time by screwing up the threads and causing all kinds of chaos. most of my projects end up a little warped or unfinished because of this.
maybe its time for me to consider a sewing class. i bet i would love it, and i would understand the machine a whole lot better.
and to not sound like a total dweeb--i can hem pants really well. only every once in awhile do i forget to turn them inside out before i start... :)
so--anyone who loves little crafty sewing projects and wonderful bits of stories--i highly recommend mrs paulsons book.
shes even coming out with a second one soon, and this one has tons of embroidery stuff. (which i seem to just love lately).
xoxo
ps, what are YOU up to??
